All About Scents

General Info

Scented plushies are created by inserting aroma beads into a plush, either loose inside the stuffing or contained in organza bags, depending on the plush.

Aroma beads are a type of small plastic pellet that can absorb fragrance oils without leaving an oily residue and won't leak or discolor your plush. Scents will fade over time as the oil evaporates.

Scents can last anywhere from 1 month to a year depending on a variety of factors including the chemical makeup of the scent itself and the environment it's kept in. The average lifespan for scents is 3-6 months. Storing your plush in an airtight container when not in use will help the scent last longer.

Care should be taken to keep scented products away from children and dogs who might confuse them for an edible product. While they may smell delicious, scent oils, and plushies in general, are not safe to consume.

Scent Descriptions

I've included the manufacturers notes on the scents where available, followed by my own opinion so you can have 2 descriptions of the scent. Please remember that smell is highly subjective so your own experiences may vary.

Bubble Gum

Orange Creamsicle

Peaches and Cream

Blue Cotton Candy

Oatmeal Cookie Dough

Chocolate

These food scents are very strong scents. The orange creamsicle and peaches and cream smell more natural. The bubble gum, cotton candy, cookie dough, and chocolate smell more chemical in nature. I personally find the bubble gum smells exactly like the pink bubble gum for children and the chocolate smells like warm melted hershey's chocolate. I personally think the cotton candy smells a bit more like a generic sweet smell than cotton candy. The oatmeal cookie dough smells like baking oatmeal cookies, though it is a strong scent and a bit heavier on the "fake" side.

Lilac

"The scent of fresh lilac is enhanced by floral notes of rose, water lilies, and
carnation on a dry musky base."
It smells very much like lilac and not like a generic floral scent some lilac products have.

Bay Breeze

"The refreshing, clean smell of bergamot and clementine blended with jasmine, climbing rose, and breeze accord with base notes of water lilies and musk"
This smells like the Yankee Candle version of the scent.

Peppermint

"This holiday classic comes to life with the smell of fresh mint, cornmint, and peppermint along with base notes of camphor and mint flower."
Smells minty like you would expect. It's a very strong, sharp scent.

Baja Cactus Blossom

"The alluring beauty of a cactus flower captured in a blend of bergamot, fresh white flowers, green cactus stems, sunkissed coconut and soft woods."
To me this smells like flowers and pineapple.

Lavender
“A bouquet of Lavender enhanced by top notes of bergamot, lemon, and eucalyptus. Add mid notes of camphor, clary sage, and rosemary as well as base notes of patchouli, Tonka, and musk to finish off this classic scent.”
This scent is floral with an almost citrus smell to it. It also smells slightly of soap.

Vanilla Bean
“The aroma of fresh vanilla beans enhanced by top notes of cherry blossom and base notes of creamy vanilla and musk.”
This isn’t quite a pure vanilla smell because of the addition of floral scents, but it does smell like an artificial vanilla similar to what you would smell in bath and body products.

Lavender and Vanilla

“A bouquet of Lavender enhanced by top notes of bergamot, lemon, and eucalyptus. Add mid notes of camphor, clary sage, and rosemary as well as base notes of patchouli, Tonka, and musk to finish off this classic scent.” + "The aroma of fresh vanilla beans enhanced by top notes of cherry blossom and base notes of creamy vanilla and musk."
This scent is a combination of Lavender and Vanilla Bean. It smells similar to the lavender with a floral, citrus smell slightly like soap, but the vanilla bean adds a sweet, sugary smell to it.

Sandalwood (low availability)

"Rich with a hearty subtleness, this sandalwood fragrance is a woody bouquet of cedar and sandalwood with rose and jasmine."
A light scent that smells a bit like incense.

Warm Vanilla Sugar (Currently Sold Out)

"Similar to the Bath & Body Works brand, it combines Vanilla, Sugar, with a hint of musk for warmness , a great scent that you have to smell to fully appreciate."
A warm and sweet smell like baking cookies. It has a bit more of an artificial smell.

Rain

"A rain scent from the deep tropics, clean and crisp, modeled after the Rain body oil that is popular worldwide."
A fresh, floral scent. A bit like a floral laundry detergent, it’s an artificial smell.

Eucalyptus

"A strong, true eucalyptus scent that will surely clear your sinuses!" A very strong and sharp smell.

Ocean Breeze

"A cool & breezy blend of ocean mist and white flowers." To me this one smells like laundry detergent as well and has a chemical, floral scent.

Pina Colada
A sweet bouquet of pineapple, coconut, and orange with a floral heart of tropical lilies and rose petals and base notes of vanilla and sugar.”
Smells very strongly of pineapple right from the start with a very sweet, tropical scent afterwards.

Cotton Candy
“A sweet candy blend with notes of raspberry, lemon, wild berry nectar, and candied sugar.”
A very light and sweet scent. To me it smells like a generic sugar smell and not cotton candy. This one does not have a strong smell of chemicals which the blue raspberry cotton candy does.

Birthday Cake
“A sweet buttery bouquet of coconut shavings and sugared berries with mid notes of pink hawthorn and melted butter. Notes of sweet caramel and creamy vanilla finish off this scent to make the perfect blend that smells like a birthday cake fresh from the bakery!”
To me this smells exactly like a yellow cake batter.

Black Cherry
“A sweet and rich blend of black cherry and wild berries with hints of banana peel, clove, and cinnamon with base notes of mimosa and vanilla.”
This is a very strong scent of black cherry specifically. It has a somewhat artificial or more chemical smell to it.

Blueberry Cobbler
“Enjoy the aroma of this classic dessert with top notes of fresh blueberries, prunes, and bergamot. Mid notes of homemade biscuit batter and warm cinnamon finished off with base notes of sweet vanilla and sugar crystals.”
A stronger scent. It has a slightly artificial or chemical smell to it. It smells very strongly of sweet baked goods and the blueberry comes second.

Banana
“This fragrance is simply pure banana!”
A light scent. To me it smells exactly like banana candy. Specifically banana runts or laffy taffy.

Pomegranate
“The rich scent of pomegranate enhanced by a fruity blend of strawberry, peach, berry nectar, and lemon zest atop a bed of vanilla musk.”
A sharp, strong smell. It is a bit artificial or chemical smelling, but it does smell like a nice fruity pomegranate.

Fruit Slices
“A fruit salad blend with slices of grapefruit, lemons, and pineapples. Mid notes of orange zest, jasmine, and berries all on a bed of weedy brambles and violet leaves.”
This is a very pleasant generic “fruity” scent. It has strong citrus scents right away with sweet, berry smells coming in second.

Strawberry
“A fruity blend of strawberry, wild berries, and melon atop a floral blend of carnation and oriental rose on a bed of vanilla and sugar.”
This is a strong scent. It has a bit of an artificial smell, not like a real strawberry, but more like a "strawberry" scented candy. It smells very strongly of sweet strawberry to me with a slight rose or floral smell.

Coconut
“The smell of fresh coconut comes to life with notes of banana, rum essence, hawthorn, vanilla, and musk.”
A lighter smell. To me it smells like sweet coconut with a floral hint.

Lemon Chiffon
“This wonderful fragrance is reminiscent of a fresh creamy lemon pie.”
Smells very strongly and pleasantly like lemons with a hint of sugar.

Sugar Cookie
“The aroma of fresh baked sugar cookies comes to life with notes of soft butter and wild berries mixed with a blend of sweet hawthorn and cookie dough complete with base notes of vanilla and confectionary sugar.”
This is a lighter scent, but it smells exactly like sugar cookie dough or like the heavily frosted, soft sugar cookies you can buy in stores.

Apple Hot Baked Pie
“This classic dessert comes to life with the scent of red apple, peach, and bergamot enhanced with notes of cinnamon, clove and a touch of mint finished off with the sweet smell of vanilla and warm Tonka Bean.”
Smells exactly like green apples and cinnamon to me, it’s a lovely, fresh scent.

Maple Pancake
“Sweet, buttery pancakes covered in maple syrup.”
This smells very much like real maple syrup and has a buttery, vanilla undertone to it.

Bacon
“The scent of fried bacon.”
This smells exactly like the fake bacon scent of dog treats. I won’t lie, I don’t find it very pleasant. It’s pretty gross. But if you need a good scent for a joke, this one is for you.

Drunken Pumpkin
“This is a gourmet blend of fresh pumpkin and coconut infused with rich cassia and clove on a base of dark bourbon, maple, and toasted oak.”
This is strong scent that is both sweet and nutty with the bourbon, maple, and oak being the strongest scents coming through.

Fall Festival
“This fragrance is amazing!  Top notes of sparkling citrus, cinnamon powder and macintosh apple with mid notes of blush rose, clove buds and crushed greens on a base of raspberry jam, scarlet peach and sugared vanilla.”
This scent smells mostly of refreshing green apple.

Candy Corn
“A great Halloween scent! Just like the chewy sweets. Sweet and buttery aroma of the honey and caramel.”
A strong scent of vanilla and caramel. It’s an artificial scent that is warm and sweet.

Harvest Spice
“A unique blend of clove, nutmeg, cinnamon with a hint of musk and fresh apple.”
This scent smells mostly of clove and nutmeg, I don’t personally smell apple at all. It is a spiced scent with no sweetness.

Apple Cinnamon
“This classic scent comes together with fruity top notes of apple, peach and bergamot blended with cinnamon, clove, and eucalyptus all on a bed of fir, balsam, and Tonka Bean.”
A strong scent of green apple with warm undertones.

Campfire
“You know that heart-warming smell of a good fire burning in the winter time?  This is it!  You'll love it!

Bold notes of smoky wood, cedar, and pine birch are supported by midnotes of balsam fir and clove leaves topped off with soft notes of orange and raspberry.”
This scent smells like your clothes do after sitting at a campfire or like liquid smoke used for cooking. It’s strong and acrid.

Fireside
“A duplicate of the popular Yankee type fragrance. This warm and cozy aroma is composed of lemon, apple, and mint leaves with woody notes of Canadian fir, eucalyptus, and clove on a bed of crackling wood fire accord, patchouli, and musk.”
This scent smells wonderfully like a pine tree.

Spiced Pumpkin
“The Scent of Pumpkin baked in simmering spices of Clove, Nutmeg and Cinnamon, Sweetened with Brown Sugar.”
A very strong scent of spices with a small hint of sweet pumpkin.

Caramel Apple
“The tart crispness of apple layered with the rich, creaminess of caramel”
A crisp green apple scent with a hint of sweet, warm caramel.

Witches Brew

“Spicy Sweet Aroma of Exotic Patchouli and Spice.”
A more mild, spiced scent strongly of cloves and cinnamon.

Dragon’s Blood
“Based on the natural herb, this is an earthy, masculine scent with a hint of spice. Reminiscent of dark woods and mystery.”
This is a strong floral scent that smells a little like flowers and baby powder.

Watermelon
“Just like the real thing!”
Like the description says! It’s crisp, sweet, and very realistically scented.

Cherry
“Rich ripe fruity aroma, warm and happiness.”
This smell is quite faint, but fruity and sweet. A bit artificial smelling, I might not place it as cherry if I didn’t know it was. Good for someone who doesn’t want a super strong smelling plush.

Raspberry

“Luxurious, earthy, sweet and attractive sounding oil, which connotes images of luscious fresh raspberries on a summer day.”
This smell is quite light compared to some of my other scents. It’s very fruity and sweet. A bit artificial smelling, almost like a raspberry scented bath product vs. actual raspberries.

Downy April Fresh
“Smells just like the familiar aroma of a fresh, clean load of laundry just pulled from the dryer! Top notes of bergamot and powder accord combined with mid notes of fresh accord, rose, and violet on a bed of sandalwood and precious woods.”
Smells like a very floral laundry detergent or dryer sheets. It has a strong chemical smell, but that’s to be expected since it’s so similar to the detergent.

Honey
“Warm floral honey with a delicate rose background, a touch of orange zest and splash of cinnamon.”
This is a nice sweet smell. You may not be able to recognize it as honey if no one told you, but once you know, it does make sense.

Georgia Peach
“The aroma of fresh Georgia peach comes to life with notes of bergamot and lemon blended with white lilies and rose atop a bed of banana peel and musk.”
This is an absolutely lovely scent. It’s not overpoweringly strong and it smells exactly like sweet peaches.

Sage Leaf
“A blend of citrus with mid notes of rose, sage leaf, and camphor with a hint of fresh pine needles and vanilla.”
This scent to me smells very strongly of the camphor which I personally feel smells like strong soap. The rose and pine follows close after which makes this smell very woodsy and fresh. It’s a stronger scent that can be a bit on the chemical side, again, due to the camphor.

Lemon Lavender
“A beautiful blend of lemon, french lavender, and green leafy hints of sage leaf on a base of patchouli and pine needles.”
A light scent that leans heavily on the lavender with hints of lemon. It smells very herbaceous.

Lemongrass Sage
“With top notes of citrus combined with an earthy blend of lemongrass, sage, and fresh air accord complete with base notes of geranium and musk.”
A strongly herbaceous scent with a sharp, citrus smell. Smells a bit like natural cleaners if you’ve ever used one with lemongrass, it’s very earthy.

Baby Powder
“Soft, gentle floral blend with an undertone of ylang and caraway on a drydown of vanilla, tonka beans, and cedar.”
Smells exactly like baby powder. It’s a very strong scent.

Love Spell
“Juicy citrus notes of peach, bergamot, and orange atop a floral heart of apple blossom, jasmine and rose with base notes of woody greens, Tonka Bean, and musk”
A sweet, fruity, floral scent. If I had to pick, I’d say it smells like someone mixed strawberries and roses, though it’s hard to pick out an exact match for this smell.

Birthday Cake
A sweet buttery bouquet of coconut shavings and sugared berries with mid notes of pink hawthorn and melted butter. Notes of sweet caramel and creamy vanilla finish off this scent to make the perfect blend that smells like a birthday cake fresh from the bakery!”
This scent is very accurate to the description, it’s super sweet and smells like a combo of fruit and baked goods.

Toasted Marshmallow
“This sugared vanilla creation is blended with velvet woods and hints of spice for nostalgic appeal. A warm, sweet accord of musky amber adds luxurious texture.” Sweet, warm, and creamy scented describes this scent perfectly. If I wasn’t told it was marshmallow I might not guess the scent, but when you know it’s supposed to be marshmallow it absolutely makes sense.

Falling Leaves
“Smoky wood is the essence of this rich, autumn fragrance. Guaicwood and cedar are accented with notes of apple, spices, berries, and patchouli on a base of sweet musk.” To me this smells like a musky scent somewhere between floral and cedar wood. I passed it to my partner who said it smells like every generic fall candle, so that’s what I’ve settled on to describe this scent. A generic fall candle.

Pumpkin Pie
“This holiday favorite comes to life with the scent of fresh pumpkin and hops with a spicy blend of nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon atop a bed of sweet vanilla, warm Tonka Bean, and sugar.”
This is a warm, sweet smell with a kick of spices that smells like pumpkin and whipped cream to me.

Blueberry
“This one is pure blueberry with nothing else added.”
Smells like blueberry! Not much to say.

Lime
“The smell of fresh green lime blended with bergamot, orange zest, rosebud, and musk.”
Hard to guess lime right away, but you’d get it if someone told you. It’s definitely citrus scented.

Strawberries and Cream
“Fresh cut ripe strawberries on mid notes of banana peel and neroli with base notes of Tonka Bean, creamy vanilla, and sugar.” This is a sweet and creamy strawberry scent. It can be a bit artificial and reminds me of some strawberry flavored medicines which some people might not like.

Dreamsickle
“Orange peels and lemon zests sweetened by shaved coconut and French vanilla, and Tonka Bean.” Smells exactly like the ice cream treat! When it starts to fade, the orange fades first and you smell more of the vanilla.

Cinnamon
"The quintessential true cinnamon spice with its strong, warm aroma reminiscent of fresh baked goods and happy holidays" Smells like cinnamon, but not like sticking your head in a spice jar. More like the smell when you walk in a craft store in December.

Candy Cane
"Formulated by our master perfumer to closely replicate the perceived aroma of Candy Cane" Smells exactly like a candy cane. It's sweet and minty.

Christmas Wreath
"Vibrant green, herbal aroma with crisp pine and spruce top notes" This smells like pine to me and reminds me of the scents you hang in fake trees to make them smell real.

Gingerbread
"The tasty essence of freshly baked gingerbread cookies, with a hint of sugar and cinnamon in the air." A very warm, spiced scent like brown sugar and cinnamon baked goods.

Cranberry
"Captures the true aromatic tart/sweet mix of cranberries" Very true to the real scent, it's tart and sweet berry.

Mistletoe
No comments from the manufacturer. Mistletoe doesn't really have a scent, so it's not clear what this is supposed to be. To me this smells like a woodsy, forest scent without smelling overwhelmingly like evergreen trees. There are hints of pine, balsam/fir, maybe camphor. I'm not surprised there's no description from the manufacturer since it's hard to explain.
