Great Plushie!

This shark turned out incredibly cute, and the pattern was really easy to follow! I've done a lot of sewing before, but even then I found this was one of the easiest plushies I've made. I was able to make it (hand sewing) in under two hours from start to finish. Would highly recommend this pattern!

The many Whale Sharks in my house.

love love loooveee this pattern! its been so much fun to work with. My kids requested a bag made out of it, so worked it up to 300% zipper in the mouth with the inside pocked and some straps and BAM whale shark bag. we also put in a line for the regular sized one, and turned him into a fluffy lil monster. hes also been turned into a pencil case with a zipper and inner pocket through the belly, and into a giant minky cuddle toy with a rainbow belly as well. cant wait to see what else my kiddos request of him to see what we can do next!

It's adorable

The pattern is easy. Like super easy. You're going to spend more time cutting out the fabric than you will actually sewing the shark. You can whip up a shark in about 20 minutes or so. I made one that was included at the size -- the one the pattern comes with -- and followed directions on how to scale it up. I decided it wasn't big enough (still) and will be making an even bigger one. I stuffed mine with plastic pellets, but I'd recommend stuffing the fins with poly to get them to stand out a little more. I didn't sew the fins like the directions told you to -- I wanted to see what they'd look like without. The answer is a little droopy but I love him like this.

The second one is 200% scaled. I'll be making another one scaled up at 400%. I do not recommend stuffing anything beyond 200% scaled with plastic pellets. The bigger shark (his name is Bimothy), weighs a solid 6-7lbs. If you go bigger, definitely go with poly! Everyone loved them. And I love them too!
